Welcome to the Barth Violin Studio!

I am the concertmaster for the Salem Philharmonia Orchestra, first violinist for Silverwind Strings quartet, and was the string orchestra teacher at Blanchet Catholic School for three years. The year of 2016 has brought an expansion of my studio and the opportunity to teach strings to the homeschool community through Village Home Education Resource Center in Salem.  I accept students of all ages.

I began my violin studies with Ken Combs at Pacific University at age five. In seventh grade, I began taking lessons at Willamette University from Amy Barlowe. Over the years, I have played with the Salem Youth Symphony and the Corvallis Youth Consort under the direction of Steve Nelson, the Salem Chamber Orchestra, Festival Chorale Oregon, Willamette Master Chorus, Linfield Chamber Orechestra, Salem Pops, Western Oregon University, and the Salem Philharmonia Orchestra.

I use the Suzuki Violin School books and O'Connor Method books with my students, but like to get to know their personal tastes so I can provide them with other types of music in which they are interested.

If you homeschool, I have lesson times available during regular school hours to accommodate your more flexible schedule. Ask about homeschool discounts!
