The year ended with a beautiful recital at the home of Erich and Loriann Schmidt. This is the second year they offered to host my studio recital at their home. Their huge Christmas tree added a festive mood. Approximately forty people came to hear seven students play classical, folk, and Christmas songs. Every student did a great job!

Coming up in March, two of my private students (who I also teach at Blanchet) and two of my Blanchet students will be participating in the Salem/Keizer School District Solo/Ensemble competition. I'm proud of every one of them for participating in that event.

Several of my students just performed in the Salem Youth Symphony Winter Concert. Sienna Abbott was selected to be the concertmaster of the Amadeus string group. Congratulations, Sienna!

Happy New Year, everyone, and keep practicing!
